A MESSAGE IN ART APPRECIATION
The appreciation of Fine Art is interpersonal. At times, when you see a work of art, it may "call" to you, it may beckon you to look closer, to see it differently or to change your perception about it. Even though you walk away and say, "This is not for me", the artwork will continue to remain in your mind. You will find yourself thinking about it, the colors, the subject matter or how the light was reflected in it. A relationship begins. You may find the artwork "calling" to you - to look closer or to be open to a more intimate interpretation of it.
When a work of art touches you, there is a reason. You have found a connection, a link to a medium that can change your mood, shift your attitude, bring you to a new level of joy and peace. Fine Art is a meditation. It can transform you from the world of confusion, distraction and fear, to comfort, tranquility, love, certainty and/or peace. But, you must first give yourself permission to have a "conversation, a relationship" with it.
Such a conversation may be a simple, "I like this". You may not know why. Perhaps, it may be the shape, the colors, the subject matter, the style that the artist has used, but, it just seems nice! As you allow the image to express itself to you, to open the window to your soul, you will find it is an invitation to an unending fountain of expression, that grows with the time that you spend with it. The Fine Art that you buy, will nourish you for as long as you own it. How can anyone put a value on that?
My goal, as a Fine Artist, is to bring this blessing to you, to share a window into your soul, to share how I see the world, how I celebrate life. I would hope that my artwork will touch you in a way that continues to grow in time, that feeds your soul and brings peace to your heart. My artwork can be like a meditation that shifts your mood to a better place. You will definitely be nourished in wonderful and unexpected ways!
